Vilenes and Bondaweb
A variety of interfacings and stabilizers from Vilene (Vlieseline) for all your craft and dressmaking needs. Use the medium interfacing for dressmaking cottons, lightweight for lighter fabrics, such as silks and chiffons and heavy weight for heavier fabrics or for a stiffer effect. NEW! we have introduced a new cotton iron-on Vilene (G700) which is ideal for dressmaking projects. This comes highly recommended by Mel who works at Hometown and is an avid dressmaker.
Lightweight Sew-in is an ideal backing for string patchwork and can be left in after sewing.
Solufleece is an embroidery stabiliser. Use it in a hoop for delicate or lacy embroidery. After stitching, the stabiliser will disappear when placed in cold water.
Bondaweb is an iron-on adhesive, used for fusible applique. Ideal for adding letters to bunting or motifs to quilts. Instructions for how to use are sent with each order of Bondaweb.
Stitch ‘n’ Tear is used as a temporary backing/stabilizer for applique, patchwork and embroidery. (Ideal for string patchwork and densely stitched embroidery designs). After sewing you can carefully tear away in a vertical or horizontal direction.
The Quickscreen square foundation is used for sewing Log Cabin blocks to ensure accuracy and to prevent distortion. The foundation is left in after sewing and is washable up to 60 degrees. Take part in the Vlieseline Quilt-a-Long project this summer in conjunction with the virtual Festival of Quilts.
